Halal Chinese, Indian & Pakistani Under One Roof — Why We Do All Three
Most halal restaurants make you choose: Chinese, or Indian, or Pakistani. Wok & Karahi is the rare one that does all three under one roof in Spring, TX — 100% Zabihah, home of the Crispy Beef. One order covers the wok-fired side and the slow-simmered side, so the whole table eats well without a second stop.
The thing almost no halal restaurant does
If you have ever searched for a halal Chinese and Indian restaurant near you, you already know the problem. Almost everywhere does one lane. The halal spots near Spring and North Houston are Indo-Pak only, and the Chinese restaurants usually are not halal at all — they cook with pork, lard and cooking wine, so ordering “no pork” never actually makes the food Zabihah.
Wok & Karahi was built to close that gap. We are one of the only halal restaurants serving genuine wok-fired Chinese alongside full Indian and Pakistani, all in the same restaurant, all 100% Zabihah. That means one order can carry Crispy Beef and Chowmein next to Dum Biryani and Karahi — no compromise, no two separate pickups.
Why we do all three (and don't pick one)
We could have been a tidy single-cuisine restaurant. We chose not to, because real meals — families, friends, offices — are not single-cuisine. One person is craving sweet-and-glossy Sesame Chicken; the next wants the deep warmth of Butter Chicken and fresh Naan; a kid just wants Fried Rice; someone else has been thinking about biryani all week. Asking that table to agree on one cuisine means somebody loses.
Doing all three under one roof solves it at the source. The picky eater and the spice lover are both happy from the same order. And because we are a dedicated halal restaurant, nobody at the table has to ask whether their dish is okay to eat — the answer is always yes. How the two sides complement each other
The magic is in the contrast. The Chinese side brings wok hei — the smoky char of a screaming-hot wok — bright glazes and crackling edges. The Indo-Pak side brings slow-built depth: layered spice, fragrant rice and rich, simmered gravies. Put them on one table and each makes the other taste better.
- The wok-fired side: our signature Crispy Beef at $14.99, Chowmein and Fried Rice from $12.99, plus classics like Mongolian Beef, Sesame Chicken and Kung Pao.
- The Indo-Pak side: our Dum Biryani at $17.99, Karahi at $14.99, and Butter Chicken at $15.99, with warm Naan to round it out.
Crispy Beef and chowmein for the Chinese craving; biryani and karahi for the desi one — on one table, in one order. Build your own mix from the full menu.
Made for mixed groups, families and offices
This is exactly the restaurant you want when a group can't agree. A family with kids and grandparents. Friends split between “something Chinese” and “something desi.” An office lunch where ten people want ten different things. Instead of placing two orders at two restaurants, you place one with us and everyone is covered.
Spice is set per dish, from no-spice to mild, medium or spicy, so the heat-averse and the chili-chasers eat from the very same order. Feeding a crowd or a workplace? That same range is what makes our catering travel so well — one tray line that satisfies a whole room without anyone settling.
All of it is 100% Zabihah
None of this would matter if the halal part were an afterthought. It isn't. Wok & Karahi is a fully halal restaurant — 100% Zabihah, certified through Crescent and HMS for both chicken and beef, with no pork, no alcohol and no cross-contamination. Every dish across all three cuisines is halal, so you never have to ask before ordering. See the details on our halal page.
You will find us at 3422 FM 2920 Rd, Unit #120, Spring, TX 77388, serving Spring, Klein, The Woodlands and Tomball. Dine in for the wok hei at its best, or order direct for pickup to skip the roughly 20–40% app fees — ordering direct keeps prices fair and supports the restaurant. Prefer to call? Frequently asked questions
Is there one halal restaurant that has both Chinese and Indian or Pakistani food?
Yes. Wok & Karahi in Spring, TX is one of the only halal restaurants serving Chinese, Indian and Pakistani all under one roof. A single order can include wok-fired Crispy Beef and Chowmein alongside Dum Biryani, Butter Chicken and Karahi, so a mixed group is covered in one pickup instead of two separate stops.
Why is a halal restaurant doing all three cuisines so rare?
Most halal restaurants near Spring and North Houston are Indo-Pak only, and most Chinese restaurants are not halal because they cook with pork, lard and cooking wine. A dedicated 100% Zabihah restaurant that also cooks genuine wok-fired Chinese is uncommon. Doing both well, in the same restaurant, is the gap Wok & Karahi fills.
Is everything at Wok & Karahi halal and Zabihah?
Yes. Wok & Karahi is a fully halal restaurant, 100% Zabihah, certified through Crescent and HMS for both chicken and beef. There is no pork, no alcohol and no cross-contamination, so every dish across all three cuisines is halal and you never have to ask before ordering.
What should a mixed group order so everyone is happy?
Cover both sides of the menu. For the Chinese lovers, start with Crispy Beef at $14.99, Chowmein and Fried Rice. For the Indo-Pak side, add Dum Biryani, Butter Chicken and a Karahi. Spice is set per dish from no-spice to spicy, so picky eaters and spice lovers are both satisfied from a single order.
